Equity Library Theatre Chicago (ELT) is a theater company dedicated to providing challenging work for members of Actors' Equity Association (AEA), the union of professional actors and stage managers.

Equity Library Theatre Chicago, founded in 1952, is Chicago's oldest ongoing producing showcase organization for members of Actors' Equity Association. ELT has always dedicated itself to showcasing Chicago actors to audiences and talent buyers alike. Famous Chicago theatre alumni such as Joe Mantegna and Dennis Franz have performed with ELT toward the beginning of their careers.

Many actors have valued their participation in an ELT show. ELT provides actors the opportunity to keep their skills sharp while waiting for that next paying gig to come along.
